He is the founder and executive director of Doorway Into Light (DIL), an educational, charitable and spiritual organization in Hawaii since 2006. Along with programs and trainings in the fields of conscious living and dying and the care of the dead, and the training of death doulas, DIL operates Hawaii’s only nonprofit funeral home. 

Ram Dass joined Bodhi and his wife Leilah in 2006 in founding DIL and collaborated, mentored and encouraged Bodhi to carry on his works in the fields of conscious living and dying and continues to help guide this work

Bodhi is a funeral director, death doula, end-of-life and bereavement educator and counselor, hospice volunteer, a teacher and trainer of death doulas, a speaker and workshop leader in the fields of wholehearted and sacred living and dying, and a ceremonial guide. Bodhi is the founder of The Death Store, an educational resource center and store on Maui. Bodhi together with his wife, children and grandchildren, have an off-the-grid organic homestead on Maui.
