Dassi Murphy From 2005 until Ram Dass’s passing in 2019, Dassi served as his chief caregiver, personal assistant, and household manager.
She is the President of Hanuman Maui, Ram Dass Loving Awareness Sanctuary, created after Ram Dass left his body in December 2019 to preserve his Maui home as a living spiritual sanctuary. This spae is open for people to connect with Ram Dass’s teachings of service and devotion through kirtan, meditation, retreats, and special events. In July 2021, we inaugurated The Hanuman Mandir (temple) was inaugurated and the Hanuman Murti was installed, creating a vibrant space for ongoing spiritual practice and community gathering.
Hanuman Maui also hosts a month-long volunteer service program, inviting participants to live and serve in the spirit of Ram Dass’s teachings. Our Compassion in Action program serves Maui’s houseless community twice a week, providing food, water, camping supplies, legal aid, and access to social services—reaching up to 75 people across five encampments.
