ALOHA FRIENDS, GREETINGS & BLESSINGS! May this find you in wellness and beauty! Recent news here include: We have received our federal, tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)3 status from the IRS as an educational and charitable organization. This is big for us, as we have been umbrella-ed under a religious organization since 2009, the Sufi organization Leilah and I are ministers in. We are being supported to expand our work to Oahu, first, to offer ocean body burial, as we are currently the only funeral home in Hawaii offering this. The population on Oahu is 6 times larger then Maui’s, and this expands our outreach to more families. Bodhi is taking a presentation entitled Spirituality, Sustainability and Death to three of the Hawaiian islands over the next three months, and in April we are bringing Stephen Jenkinson to Maui for an evening talk on his new book, Die Wise. We have begun meetings in private homes for ‘Dinner with Death’, where friends are invited for an informal discussion on approaching death and end-of-life planning, followed by a pot-luck. Stop by and check out our newly remodeled store !! Doorway Into Light strives to provide support and services to all who are in need regardless of financial ability. We are a non-profit, community based organization, and our continued success is dependent on your generous contributions. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation so that we may serve all who seek our support. See below to Donate or Mail to: Doorway Into Light PO Box 1268 Haiku, HI 96708 Wishing you continued good health, success, and the strength and courage to face everything that shows up. Bodhi Please pass this newsletter forwards, and/or pass these links forwards, through your community and social media networks. Our next Being With Dying is this coming Monday, March 2nd.
